Meet Our Team
Founding Partner/ CEO
As CEO of LyonJay, his responsibilities include establishing corporate policy, developing and implementing the company’s strategic direction, and creating profitable, synergistic corporate relationships. Mr. Lyon is also a founding member and President of LML Construction. LML is a multi-family/multi-use general contractor and developer with extensive experience throughout the southeast and over 75 years combined experience. LML leadership has managed developments in 11 states, constructing more than 10,000 units, while maintaining an unparalleled bonding rate. Prior to founding LML, Mr. Lyon was VP of business development, where he spearheaded his previous firm’s expansion across 9 states, driving annual gross contract volume to exceed $100M USD and successfully co-developing and constructing apartment and condominium complexes around the Southeast. Jennings has strategically positioned LyonJay to take advantage of current RE market trends as sunbelt states continue to experience rapid population growth. A former collegiate wrestler, father of two, husband, and small business owner, Jennings still finds time to be active in his community.
As President his responsibilities include creating and maintaining relationships with the company’s capital partners, site selection, development project oversight and underwriting of new projects. Mr. Jay began his career with a private equity firm, acquiring, developing, and redeveloping projects including hospitality, condominiums, and residential communities. Mr. Jay was also a founding member of The Jay Company, specializing in the development of commercial, single tenant net leased properties, as well brokering commercial real estate.
JK was one of the top recruited offensive linemen in the country. Having received offers from Division 1 schools Georgia, Miami, Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, USC, Michigan and Florida, as well as offers from Harvard and Yale, JK chose Clemson university in the upstate of SC where he went on to be named to the All ACC Academic Team and graduated in just 3 years. JK is now a part of the Paw Journey Mentoring program and mentors Clemson football players following in his footsteps. Mr. Jay also serves on the Board of Directors for the Clemson Letterman’s Association and Young Alumni Council for Clemson University and assisted in the launch of a mini-series in the Greenville area, “Successful Entrepreneurship” which brought in the state’s top Entrepreneurs to give lectures and provide guidance to those desiring to start their own businesses. JK enjoys spending time with his wife and their two sons.
Martin T. Sarkees
Before joining LyonJay Mr. Sarkees served as CFO and Director of Operations for Hughes Development Corp., a nationally recognized developer of office towers, commercial, and mixed-used projects. Sarkees has also held leadership roles at companies including Johnson & Johnson and the Martin T. Sarkees Crop and GPCD Partners. On top of his professional expertise, Sarkees brings a Masters Degree in Real Estate Development from Clemons University to the table and over 20 years of experience in operations and asset management of commercial real estate.
Edward R. “Blake” Blakemore serves as Chief Operating Officer of LyonJay. Blakemore brings over 20 years of C-Suite leadership experience in finance and operations management within public and private organizations in real estate, finance, and banking. Prior to joining LyonJay Blakemore served as the CFO at NHE, a complex and diverse real estate management and development company with a concentration in the multi-family space. Blakemore has also served as the CFO and Senior VP of Operations at Serrus Capital Partners, a South Carolina based real estate investment and development company. He has also served as CFO/COO for a diversified financial services firm, a registered investment advisor providing exclusive financial products and services to high net-worth individuals through a series of funds.
As an independent contractor he performed bank related credit advisory services for a leading national provider. His reviews were focused on single family residential and commercial & industrial loan portfolio valuations.
Ed was also the CFO of Serrus Capital Partners, a South Carolina based real estate investment and development company that acquired, rehabbed and rented more than 250 single family detached homes.
VP of Construction Management
Roy started his career at Michigan Community college with emphasis on Construction Project Management. After 10 years as a Union Carpentry Foreman he transitioned to a Project Superintendent in South Carolina. His career has included posts serving as the Division Manager of the Florida market for General Contractor, Senior Project manager for several Florida General contractors and Project Superintendent. He has completed over 17,800 multi-family units, as well as commercial office structures. Roy currently holds an Unlimited General Contractors license for the states of Florida and South Carolina and has qualified for the 10 state NASCLA Unlimited general contractors license for the Southeast.
Dwight Capital is a leader in commercial real estate finance and is one of the largest FHA/HUD lenders for multifamily and healthcare properties in the United States. Their range of services include commercial lending across a variety of platforms such as Bridge, USDA, Mezzanine, and Preferred Equity for both stabilized and new-construction properties. They have been a top-5 Multifamily HUD lender over the past five years (2015-2019) by both transactions and dollar amount.
Principal for Hostmark
Weiser has created a storied portfolio of success stories during his tenure at The Continental Companies, LLC, world-renowned New York Restaurant Regine’s, and Carnival Hotels & Casinos. In addition, Weiser brings experience serving as the Chairman, President, and Founder of The TANGO Group—an award-winning venture that has grown to include nine restaurants in the United States and Canada. A University of Denver alumnus, Mr. Weiser serves on the Executive Advisory Board of the University of Denver, the University of Miami Citizen’s Board, and as a visiting lecturer and speaker at the University of Denver’s School of Hospitality and Management.
In 2008, in the midst of one of the worst economic downturns since World War II, the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit market cratered. Investment bank giants including Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Bank of America, CitiBank and AIG abruptly abandoned the LIHTC market they once dominated.
With an extensive background in affordable housing, Sixty West principal Stephen Holden saw an opportunity and took action by launching CRA Investments. Rather than replicating the approach of the larger institutions, CRA Investments was modeled as a syndicator that provides investors and developers with the direct involvement and personal touch that so many businesses failed to provide during the economic downturn. Now, Sixty West focuses on helping clients reduce their tax liability through a variety of tools designed to optimize ROI.
